Some shots of people doing what they do best…
On Saturday, we planted trees, shrubs and perennials (mainly edibles) in the new beds. Stepping stones were also laid where the curly spiral paths almost met each other.
The pathway along the parking area will be lined by a low fence with espalier fruit trees along it. Here’s the process of setting the posts:
To make a route from the parking area to the front door of the church through our curly bed layout, we built a set of steps using rounds cut from one of the felled trees.

The table, too was built from the felled trees, and set on top of the double stumps of one of them.
The bench at the top corner of the site was built from slabs and logs from the felled trees.
The pond was created over 2 days: dug on Wednesday, then lined and filled on Saturday. It’s filled almost to the top with gravel for safety.
